2026 Juried Exhibition

Exhibiting member, Victoria Carter

Prince Street Gallery will host its 18th Annual Juried Exhibition beginning on July 7. This year’s juror, Sharon Butler, is an artist, arts writer, and publisher of Two Coats of Paint, an award winning blogazine that focuses on contemporary painting in New York City.

Butler’s art practice is driven by a deep curiosity about the mysterious interplay between emotion, intellect and the act of painting itself. She has exhibited at venues throughout the United States. Here in NY, she has had solo shows at CLEA RSKY, Jennifer Baahng Gallery, Theodore: Art and Pocket Utopia.  Her work is in collections at the William Benton Museum of Art in Storrs, CT, Eastern Connecticut State University, and private collections throughout the country, and her shows have been reviewed in such publications as The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and New York Magazine

Twenty–six artists and 45 artworks were selected for Prince Street’s 18th Annual Juried Exhibition. “I was surprised by the number of talented artists who submitted their work,” Sharon Butler told us. “I could have selected at least two or three outstanding shows — so I narrowed the focus to quirkier approaches and outlooks: abstract paintings, objects that used materials in unexpected ways, and representational paintings that didn’t necessarily rely on beauty to draw the viewer in.”
